About Me ...

I grew up out in the prairies of Alberta. After high school I craved a different kind of environment than what I have known. I'm an ambitious, optimistic, and fun-loving kind of guy. I'm on here to expand my circle of friends and to get more comfortable in my skin. I am merrily on the yellow-brick road remembering what I was set out to do - to dream big, achieve my goals, and most importantly remember who I am.

My childhood dream and talent has always been in Makeup. I have earned a Makeup Artistry Certificate from Marvel College. Makeup artistry is my passion, something that bring joy into my life, a creative outlet to which I love.

I've always been a very creative guy. I love glitz, Glamour, Beauty and Innovative ideas. Photography and Makeup Artistry as well as Fashion are all entities that complement each other, and I truly believe in order to be a amazing Makeup Artist, one should also appreciate the art of Photography and Fashion.

I am also looking to collaborate with photographers, models and stylists to build my portfolio and hopefully make great contacts along the way. I enjoy working as a team and being part of the creative process so if you are interested in working with me please contact me.

DAY TIME MAKEUP IN TEN BASIC STEPS

1. FOUNDATION – evens skin tone

2. CONCEALER- hides flaws

3. POWDER- sets foundation

4. BLUSHER- adds color, also re-proportions face

5. EYE BROWS- controls shape of eye and facial expression

6. EYE LINER- adds definition to the eye

7. EYE SHADOW- colors and neutrals help reshape and bring out eyes
• When applying eye shadow, choose your color palette and apply according to the eye shape you are working on. Keep in mind that light, bright or pearlized shades will highlight or bring out areas, and dark, dull, or matte shades recede the eye.

8. MASCARA- colors and define eye lashes

9. LIP LINER- adds definition to lips and allows you to reshape lips
• Lip balm or conditioner should be used daily as a healing and moisturizing base on the delicate lip are which lack oil glands. Before applying color to the lip a concealer can be used for correcting lip lines if necessary. The lip liner pencil is used to create definition and to reshape lips.
10. LIP COLOR- adds color

SKIN TYPES

There are four skin types as follows:
1. Normal
Very few people are blessed with this skin. It is fine textured (pores nearly invisible); smooth to the touch (no rough spots or scaly feeling); no blemishes (some may occasionally appear.

2. Dry
Also fine textured but has a tight feeling, drawn feeling. Dry tends to flake and feel rough easily. Tiny lines around the eyes and mouth may be present, even at an early age.

3. Oily
Skin appears shiny, thick, and firm, Pores tend to be enlarged. Blemishes and blackheads appear easily (due to over oil gland clogging pores) and lines and wrinkles are seldom a problem.

4. Combination
T-zone (down the center of the face- forehead, nose, inner, cheeks and chin) is noticeably oily, while the outer cheeks, temples and eye area tend to be dry and normal. This oiliness and dryness may vary at different times of the year. Each area should be handled separately as far as product and treatments are concerned.

SKIN CARE NUTRITION

Your health of your skin begins with a good nutrition.

• Vitamin A (helps prevent aging) Egg Yolks, Dairy, Carrots, Spinach, melons, and Sweet Potatoes

• Vitamin B (exfoliation and firmness) Yeast, Eggs, Liver and Veggies

• Vitamin C (tone and elasticity) Citrus Fruits, Broccoli, Peppers, Berries, Tomatoes, Strawberries, Oranges, Grapefruit, and Leafy Greens.

• Vitamin D (developing of skin cells) Egg yolks, Fortified milk, and other dairy products.

• Vitamin E (protect against the environment) Wheat germ, Leafy greens, nuts, whole grains.

• Healthy Fats (supple skin and soft shinny hair) unsaturated fats such as monounsaturated fat found in Olive oil, Avocado, with Omega-3 fats found in fatty fish.

Match Mask to Your Skin Type

For oily skin, witch hazel makes an inexpensive toner.

For dry skin, you may want to add moisturizer while skin is still damp.

For trouble-prone skin, mix oatmeal with water to form a paste.

For normal to oily skin, use an egg white.

For dry skin, use an egg yolk.

In all cases, spread mixture on face and allow to dry. Rinse thoroughly with cool water.

Homemade Facial Mask Recipe

Three masks
Depending on your skin type, here are some great masks to try. For oily skin use some plain Milk of Magnesia, rub it on and let dry, then rinse with lukewarm water. It absorbs oil wonderfully!

For Normal/combination skin mix one egg and 1/2 cup cooked instant oatmeal and a teaspoon olive oil until smooth. Spread on your face and leave 15 min then rinse.
For dry skin, mix one egg yolk, one teaspoon honey and a teaspoon olive oil and some vitamin E oil if you have it. Smooth on and leave on for 15 min. , rinse in lukewarm water and pat dry.

If your skin is a bit dry you can put a dab or two of either olive oil, or any other light oil, or plain crisco if you want something heavier, on your moist skin after washing or a mask and your face is set without the $$ some people spend for the same look.
